Biking
Mountain biking at Idre Fjälll is one of our most popular activities during the summer and the fall. No wonder when the Magazine Bicycling names us "Best in Sweden". Add a stunning scenery of the mountains Städjan and Nipfjället and old, untouched forests and you will be amazed.
Aske's Pajplajn is a green, child-friendly loop with rolling, playful elements near the playground. Perfect for the youngest cyclists and adults looking for a snack while keeping an eye on the kids. Approximately 200 meters.
A new alternative and easier climb as a conclusion to Fjället runt. Gränjesleden is not a consistent uphill but a varied stretch along ridges, beautiful pine forests, and open marshland with fantastic views towards Städjan. The total distance is 1.8 kilometers, and the trail is graded green, making it ideal for beginner cyclists and children to enjoy on their way up to the Skills Area.
Are you looking for something more relaxed, without the big adrenaline rush? Then Lilla slingan is perfect for you. Lilla slingan winds through the forest, makes a loop, and returns to the same spot where it started. It follows bark trails (cross-country ski trails in winter), natural paths, bike trails, and some gravel roads. There are no surprises here, so you can relax and enjoy the surroundings throughout the entire loop. A hidden gem, that's Lilla slingan.
Kilivippen is a wonderful trail that winds between roller ski tracks and horse paddocks, offering a fantastic view of Städjan. Here, you can challenge your balance or overcome your "spångest" (anxiety about boardwalks) at two different spots. Choose between a wide or narrow boardwalk. Kilivippen also offers a few other small surprises before it finally ends just below our Skills Area.
Fjället runt is a green trail consisting of a gravel road that takes you around the entire Idre Fjäll, featuring a slightly steeper downhill and some easier uphills. Our blue trails, which also circle the mountain, start and return to this gravel road, offering the opportunity to turn onto one of them for a different adventure. Fjället Runt offers wonderful views and fantastic scenery. Note: This summer, a part of Fjället Runt is closed, so please follow the detour signs on site.
Toppflow is for those who want to ride at the mountain's peak while enjoying a flowy trail and bermed turns! The trail ends at the dismount of the Väst 6:an chairlift. Here, you can choose to continue on our Downhill trails or turn right, ride back up to the top, and do a full loop. How many laps can you manage before it's time for a break at the summit lodge Utsikten?
This is a trail that everyone can handle, young or old, from beginners who have mastered the brakes, to advanced cyclists striving to take the top spot on the Strava segment. Alla kan is a very flowy trail that winds through the forest, downhill and back and forth, while offering thrilling rollers and small rock drops that can easily be rolled over. It's not uncommon to hear "Woohoo!" from cyclists making their way down this trail.
Jippi is the icing on the cake, a fantastically fun continuation after riding Alla kan. Just cross the gravel road and continue to soar over rollers, rock gardens, small drops, bermed turns, and hand-built trails. Or ride a bit slower, enjoy nature, or stop at the rest area for a quick energy boost – Jippi gives you what you want. Of course, you can also ride Fjället Runt and just turn onto this trail as well.
Norrskogen disproves the notion that uphill cycling is tough and boring. Here, you ride on a winding trail uphill, back and forth, and suddenly you've gained several meters in elevation without hardly noticing it. The reward is a shorter stretch of flowy downhill trail before it levels out again, offering a winding path that follows the forest's natural terrain waves. Feeling low on energy? Take a break at our rest area while enjoying the fantastic view of Städjan.
Is the lactic acid starting to kick in? No worries, there's just a little bit left before you're back at the Skills Area. Lite till offers a nice, winding trail between and over the ski slopes, with turns that challenge the balance of adults while children navigate them with ease.
Like the curved shape of cheese doodles, this trail winds upward in the forest a bit before veering to the right, offering flowy cycling over the ski slopes and a few surprises. Jump or just roll over? Here, you can choose for yourself when the surprises appear. Do you like wooden bridges? So do we! Ostkroken features hand-built bridges, made from timber we cut ourselves just a few hundred meters from here, from the trees we cleared in the area.
Slättvåla Runt is a machine-built flow trail over 6 km long, designed by former professional cyclist Andreas Danielsson. The trail winds through a beautiful area of untouched pine forest, perfect for those who enjoy experiencing nature from the bike saddle. Of course, there are a few well-chosen rest spots for those who want to take a break, and naturally, we've added some fun elements for those looking for extra excitement. The trail is graded blue and can be an extension of Fjället Runt.
